IMPORTANT NOTES FOR TRAILERS

THE ONLY FEASIBLE ROUTE INTO THOMPSON’S PARKING LOT IS VIA VIRGINIA AVENUE. DON’T TRY TO USE ROCK CREEK PARKWAY IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE SITE.

DON’T BRING A TRAILER DURING RUSH HOURS, THAT IS BETWEEN 6:30 - 9:30 am AND 3:30 - 6:30 PM. MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. TRAFFIC CANNOT CROSS ROCK CREEK PARKWAY DURING THOSE PERIODS.

Directions from Virginia heading North on 95: From junction of 95 North and Washington Beltway, take 395 North toward DC. Look for Memorial Bridge signs and get in right lane exiting onto the route which passes west of the Pentagon. Continue north until you reach Memorial Bridge. Cross Memorial Bridge in the left lane and bear left in front of the Lincoln Memorial and take the first legal left turn (second left) on 23rd St.. Follow 23rd north several blocks to Virginia Avenue, NW (the street before this turn is E St, NW), . Turn left on Virginia and go directly ahead. At the traffic light with Rock Creek Parkway be in the left lane. On the full green, cross the Parkway into Thompson’s parking lot.

To get to the commercial lot at the foot of Wisconsin Avenue, follow directions across Memorial Bridge to left on 23rd St.. Follow 23rd past Virginia Ave to Washington Circle. Follow the Circle 3/4 of the way around, turn right on K St. Follow K St in the left lane down the ramp which takes you under the Whitehurst Freeway. Proceed through several stop signs to Wisconsin Ave where you will see the parking lot on the left.

Directions from 95 South: Take 395N into Washington DC. Take the exit for Memorial Bridge. Stay in your right hand lane as you go over the bridge. Once you are over the bridge, turn to your far right. There will be stop sign after you go around the turn. At the stop sign go right this will take you onto Rock Creek Parkway. (If you end up at a stop light after going right at the bridge just take another right - that will take you on to Rock Creek too). Almost immediately after you get onto Rock Creek there will be an off ramp for the WhiteHurst Freeway - take it. Immediately get into the left lanes of traffic. DO NOT go to Whitehurst Freeway but instead follow the road around to the left until you come to a stop sign. At the Stop sign make a left turn. You will immediately come to a stop light. Make a right turn that brings you into the far left lane. You are now on Virginia Avenue. At the next light which is just Yards after the turn you will go straight which takes you directly into Thompson's Parking Lot.

Directions from 95 North: When the road splits into 495, head towards Virginia (right side). After 15-20 minutes there will be a turnoff for the Clara Barton Parkway. Take the Parkway all the way into Georgetown. The Parkway will eventually turn into M St. Take M St to Wisconsin Ave (major intersection) and make a right. At the bottom of the hill is a four way stop - go left. Take this road until you come to a stop light. At the stop light turn right. This will be a confusing intersection so be careful. After you take the right follow the road for a few hundred yards until you come to a stop light. This is Virginia Avenue. Make a right turn that takes you into the far left lane. At the next light which is just Yards after the turn you will go straight which takes you directly into Thompson's Parking Lot.

Directions From Virginia (Rosslyn): Take I-66 or George Washington Parkway to the Key Bridge Exit. From Key Bridge make a right onto M St. Take M St to Wisconsin Ave (major intersection) and make a right. At the bottom of the hill is a four way stop - make a left. Take this road until you come to a stop light. At the stop light turn right. This will be a confusing intersection so be careful. After you take the right follow the road for a few hundred yards until you come to a stop light. This is Virginia Avenue. Make a right turn that takes you into the far left lane. At the next light which is just Yards after the turn you will go straight which takes you directly into Thompson's Parking Lot.
